A Blood Donation Camp was organized by 2 J&K boys battalion and 2 J&K girls Battalion from SPMR College and Parade College at Govt. SPMR College of Commerce in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region, Govt. Medical College Hospital, Jammu and Govt. hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu wherein 60 donors donated their blood.
The camp was inaugurated by Sh. Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region and Col. R.S. Jasrotia. They congratulated the cadets for donating their blood for such a noble cause. They also appreciated all the cadets for being a part of this campaign and encouraged them to take part in more upcoming camps like these.
All this was done under the supervision of Vironica Marwah, Field Officer, IRCS Jammu Region, Lt. Suman Lata, ANO and Smt. Savita Jamwal, Incharge NCC, Commerce College, Jammu.
Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region organized a function in the meeting hall of the Red Cross Society, Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu and handed over the Life Membership Certificates received from Indian Red Cross Society, National Head Quarters, New Delhi to the people who have enrolled themselves to become the Life Members of the Society by Sh. Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary, Jammu Region. Mr. Sharma has put in lots of personal efforts to bring these certificates from National Head Quarters which were awaited for long time. The event was organized for the first time where the Hony. Secretary briefed the members about the activities undertaken by IRCS Jammu during peace time and natural/ man made disaster and also asked certificate holders to spare their valuable time for the noble cause rendered by Red Cross Society. He also requested everyone to bring more people with them who should join this society so that more help can be provided on humanitarian grounds to the downtrodden people who are facing different hardships in their life.

Ufex Limited Unit ll, SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana, Jammu in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society. Jammu Region and Blood Transfusion Department. Govt. Medical College, Jammu organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Voluntary Blood Donation Day on 1st October, 2022 at Bari Brahmana, Jammu. The theme of this
year is “Donating Blood is an Act of Solidarity. Join The Effort And Save Lives. Besides this Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region has also started the drive for organizing Blood Donation Camps w.e.f 17” September, 2022 and organized more than 5 blood Donation Camps in different locations on the birthday Celebrations of Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Jee.
The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Sh. Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region Sh. Parveen Tripathi, General Manager and Sh. Ajay Chauhan HR Head. UFLEX Ltd. Unit No.ll.
While speaking on the occasion, Sh. Sat Pal Sharma appreciated the spirit of discipline, devotion and dedication of the team of M/S UFLEX Limited Unit ll who come forward and organized a blood Donation Camp on the eve of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day and requested them to Organize such type of more and more Blood Donation Camps in future also so that to maintain adequate supplies and timely access to safe blood transfusion and precious human lives. He further lauded the role of UFLEX especially to the officers/officials who donated blood voluntarily in the said camp
The Camp was supervised by Mr. Manish Sharma I/C Dispensary UFlex Ltd. and the team of Blood Bank GMC, Jammu headed by Dr. Salvi Sharma and Red Cross Society. The Blood Donation Camp ended a good note and response in which around 25 units of blood collected.
First aiders need to have the ability and background knowledge to deal with a wide variety of first aid emergencies which can occur at any point of time. Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region organized 4 days First-Aid Training Programme for the officers/ officials of M/S Saraswati Plastotech Indian Pvt. Ltd. and M/S Saraswati Agro Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana Samba, J&K w.e.f 27th to 30thSeptember, 2022.
Theoretical and practical knowledge was delivered/ demonstrated by Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma, Dr. Aasia Noor, Medical Officers, Smt. Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist along with Vironica Marwah, Field Officer, IRCS Jammu Region.
During the 4-days training course, employees were apprised of the various techniques of Disaster Management during Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, famine, basic safety equipment use, incident management. Practical demonstration covered critical skills such as how to appropriately treat someone who is bleeding, choking, or suffering from shock, Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation, ways to deal with life threatening conditions such as seizures, unconsciousness, or a non-breathing casualty. In addition, employees were shown how to handle a situation where the casualty is having a heart attack, anaphylaxis, asthma, or cardiac arrest.
The training was done under the able guidance and supervision of Sh. Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary, IRCS Jammu Region.
The exam was conducted by Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma along with Sh. Joginder Kumar, Pharmacist, IRCS Jammu Region and Vironica Marwah.
As requested by the Head of Jyothy Laboratories Ltd., 4 days First-Aid training programme has been conducted by Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region for the employees of the Jyothy Laboratories Ltd, Lane II, Phase II, Sidco Industrial Complex, Bari Bari Brahamana, Samba w.e.f 20th to 24th September, 2022.
The lecture was delivered/ demonstrated by Dr. Aasia Noor, Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma, Medical Officers, Smt. Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist alongwith Vironica Marwah, Field Officer. The students were apprised of the various techniques of First-Aid Kit, wounds, bandages, types of fractures, bleeding emergencies, burns etc. Emphasis was laid on the Management of injuries, fracture, control of bleeding, practical demonstration of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, transfer of injured patient were done with the active participation and interaction from the students. Apart from this there were some queries made by the employees regarding the untoward situations arises in the company. The employees were found quite sincere and the training programme was quite fruitful and concluded with good positivity.
The exam was conducted by Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma and Sh. Joginderkumar, Pharmmacist, IRCS, Jammu Region.
Sh. Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region is always one step ahead in organizing such training programmes at different places for the betterement of the society as well as the lay man. He always made sure that every employee shall be trained in a proper way about the basic First-Aid programme so that they may not face any threat to their lives in upcoming future.
On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17, Union health ministry has started a mega drive for voluntary blood donation. The voluntary blood donation drive will go on till October 1, which is the national voluntary blood donation day. The exercise will be called Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav.
To facilitate this process, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region has organized series of Blood Donation camps at different places with different organizations/ institutions namely a) Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Jain Nagar, Talab Tillo, b) Prison Headquarters, District Jail, Ambphalla, Jammu, c) Mahavir International Jammu Tawi Centre at Sanmati Sadan, Bahu plaza, Jammu. Likewise one more blood donation camp is being organized by Rotaract Club Jammu Tawi and Sharva Foundation at Mubarak Mandi Complex, Jammu tomorrow on 18th of September, 2022
Sh. Sat Pal Sharma, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region, personally visited each camp and graced the occasion “ on the birth anniversary of our most respected/ dynamic and visionary Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi JI” with his presence. He added “ the main purpose of the drive is to create a repository of voluntary blood donors so that those in need can get help on time and minimize the gap between demand and supply and save the precious lives through this noble cause”.
The camps ended on a great note with full enthusiasm.
First Aid training at workplace provides a wide range of practical first aid skills which are valuable in the working environments, from office to factory floor. First-Aid Training at Red Cross Bhawan, Jammu Indian Red Cross Society’s First Aid trainingprogramme gives the information and the skills one need to helpadults and children during many emergency situations, First-aid care is the top most priority to helppeople at the times of disaster. Likewise, IRCS Jammu Region organized a fourdays First-Aid training programme for the officers/ officials of M/s PidiliteIndustries, SICOP, Kathua, Employees of Versatile Polytech Pvt. Ltd. BariBrahmana, Distt. Samba, Commercial Vehicle drivers and for the youth of thesociety. The training concluded on 31st August, 2022. During the 4 days training, different topics were covered like various techniques of Disaster Management during Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, First-Aid Kit, wounds, bandages, types of fractures, bleeding emergencies, burns etc. Emergency technique of handling bleeding patient, Fracture/accident victims was also emphasized. Highlights of the programme were how to resuscitate a patient of fainting and Cardiac Arrest. Emphasis was laid on the Management of injuries, fracture, burns, control of bleeding, practical demonstrations of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Choking. The practical and theoretical lectures were laid by Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma, Dr. Asia Noor, Medical Officers assisted by Smt. Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist and Sh. Joginder Kumar, Pharmacist, IRCS, Jammu Region. During the last day of session, Sh. Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary, IRCS Jammu Region interacted with all the participants personally and discussed about how their training went and was it of any use to them. Apart from this, he also briefed them about the organization motive and how it helps the different sections of society. The training went quite fruitful and ended on a good note.

 

Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region organized a one day First-Aid Awareness Programme in collaboration with Sector Headquarter, SSB, Jammu for Sashastra Seema Bal personnel at their Headquarters, Jammu on 22nd August, 2022.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Jatinder Joshi, Second In Command, Sector Headquarter SSB Jammu. The lecture was delivered/ demonstrated by Dr. Aasia Noor, Medical Officer, IRCS Jammu along with Smt. Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist.
The trainees were apprised of the various techniques of Disaster Management during Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, First-Aid Kit, wounds, bandages, types of fractures, bleeding emergencies, burns etc. Emergency technique of handling bleeding patient, Fracture/accident victims was also emphasized. Highlights of the programme were how to resuscitate a patient of fainting and Cardiac Arrest. Emphasis was laid on the Management of injuries, fracture, burns, control of bleeding, practical demonstrations of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Choking were done with the active participation and interaction with the SSB personnel.

Indian Red Cross, Jammu Region organized one day First-Aid Awareness programme at Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Sr. Secondary School, Narayan Bhawn, Ved Mandir Complex, Ambphalla, Jammu for the students on 6th August, 2022.
The lecture was delivered/ demonstrated by Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma, Medical Officer, Smt. Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist, Vironica Marwah, Field Officer along with Red Cross Interns. The students were apprised of the various techniques of First-Aid Kit, wounds, bandages, types of fractures, bleeding emergencies, burns etc. Emergency technique of handling bleeding patient, Fracture/accident victims was also emphasized.
Emphasis was laid on the Management of injuries, fracture, control of bleeding, practical demonstration of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, transfer of injured patient were done with the active participation and interaction from the students. Apart from this there were some queries made by the students regarding the healthy lifestyle and other health issues. The students were found quite sincere and the awareness went quite fruitful and concluded with good positivity.
